The Nature Conservancy Dangermond Preserve
Murphy Structural Engineers serves as the on-call structural engineer of record (SEOR) for The Nature Conservancy (TNC) at the Dangermond Preserve. TNC purchased the land for the purpose of preserving the pristine stretch of coastline and serving as a beacon for environmental research.
As part of this large-scale conservation project MSE works with TNC stakeholders, architects, engineers and builders to revitalize/renovate nearly a dozen buildings to better suit TNC’s mission at the preserve. The structural design portion of the building projects includes structural stabilization through foundation replacements, repairs and seismic upgrades as well as remodels and renovations. The various eras of construction, remote location and unique programming needs ensure that all portions of the building projects are unique and have their own design challenges.
