Murphy Structural Engineers is looking for a full-time project engineer to perform structural engineering analysis and design. Based in downtown San Luis Obispo, we provide structural engineering consulting services for a wide range of sectors, with an emphasis on wineries and industrial applications. We pride ourselves on being collaborative team players with a customer-oriented attitude.
Job skills and genuine interest in:

Engineering analysis and design of concrete, masonry, steel, and timber structures
-
Working on a variety of projects (commercial, industrial and residential)
-
Using computer software programs: AutoCAD (required), MS Excel & Word (required), and Enercalc, Retainpro, Risa or Ram Elements
-
Understanding how to work with current buildings codes and seismic provisions
-
Communicating technical issues clearly and simply, written and verbally
-
Problem solving and logic
Job highlights and duties include:

Designing structural systems for buildings and components
-
Preparing calculations and structural design
-
Preparing construction documents and sketches including plans, sections, elevations, and details
-
Managing the construction phase of projects with review of submittals, RFIs, and job-site visits
-
Visiting job sites, which require frequent bending, standing, walking, sitting and may include climbing up ladders
Looking for a team player with these experiences:
-
1-6+ years of work experience
-
Bachelor’s and master's degree (preferred) in civil, structural or architectural engineering from an accredited university
-
EIT (required), PE (preferred)
